Alice Chambers makes Graduate Fashion Week with Pittards leathers
Pittards recently sponsored Northampton University student Alice Chambers, providing her with a selection of leather skins to create her final collection which was selected by the University to showcase at Graduate Fashion Week 2016 in London at the iconic Truman Brewery.
Alice’s collection was inspired by lost and forgotten cities and how they have become desolate and broken down over time. “The garment shapes and asymmetric lines reflect that of the broken down buildings and structures. The collection also features laser cutting detail throughout the pattern which was inspired by windows in the abandoned buildings” she said.
“I absolutely loved working with their leathers, the quality of the skins that I received was great and it enabled me to produce some really high quality garments. I had not had a lot of experience of working with leather before working on my collection but the leathers were ideal for garments, giving them the correct structure and a really great finish. Adding in leather to my collection allowed me to create the extra detail I was looking for.”
Alice was joined by 13 other students from the University of Northampton’s BA (Hons) Fashion, BA (Hons) Textiles for Fashion and BA (Hons) Footwear and Accessories courses on the catwalk.
Pittards would like to congratulate Alice on her achievements and wish her every success for the future.
