Award Nomination for Pittards Apprentice

On Thursday 13th November, Bridgwater College held their annual “Celebration of Apprenticeships” awards at the Canalside venue in Bridgwater. Hosted by the Head of Business Development at the College, Matt Tudor, this event is a celebration of the achievements of each of their 1000 apprentices and recognises commitment and dedication alongside technical excellence. This year, Pittards’ Kevin Drogan (pictured) who is just completing his first year of a leather goods apprenticeship, was nominated for the “Intermediate Apprentice of the Year” in the Arts and Technology category. Although Kevin did not win the award on the night, this represents for both him and Pittards a significant achievement in the recently re-established apprenticeship scheme at the Yeovil site. Pittards has recruited 15 apprentices since 2013 in leather production, leather goods production and in its maintenance departments and working with Bridgwater College as its training provider, intends to continue this process of rejuvenation of its workforce in the coming years.
